When the Arenberg family acquired the chateau which bears their name in the early 17th century, the park became a huge leisure garden, with two main areas giving the park its structure :
The large rectangle, divided into five separate gardens with different themes, still has a magnificent Chinese pavilion (17th-18th centuries) with unique faux marble décor imitating lacquerware.
The elegant heptagonal Seven Stars pavilion, supported by seven pairs of Tuscan columns, is the starting-point for fourteen walks planted with different species of trees.
The park fell into neglect in the 19th and 20th centuries, but it is now undergoing major restoration work.
