Girona () is a city in Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital of the province of Girona and the comarca of Gironès.
Girona had a population of 92,186 on 1 January 2007. Gerona is located 102 kilometers north of the Catalan metropolis of Barcelona and at 75 meters above sea level. The city is crossed by the rivers Ter and Onyar.
The mayor of the city is Anna Pagans i Gruartmoner. Gerona has its own university, Universitat de Girona, and the second largest airport in Catalonia,
