Senlac Hills was the place where the Battle of Hastings was fought. The Battle of Hastings took place on 14 October 1066. It was the decisive Norman victory of Duke William II of Normandy against the English army of King Harold II. The battle took place at Senlac Hill, about 6 miles northwest of Hastings. The death of King Harold is shown on the famous Bayeux Tapestry.
