The Joannes de Doperkerk is a church building from 1922 with a tower from the end of the 15th / beginning of the 16th century, which is located at Hertogstraat 1 in Sprundel. The architect was Wolter in Riele.
A chapel had existed in Sprundel for a long time. A parish was first mentioned in 1351. The chapel was elevated to parish church, but around 1500 a new church was built. This was a single-aisled cruciform church. She was destroyed by war in 1583 and was completed in 1620. This church came into the hands of the Reformed in 1648, and in 1796 it was returned to the Catholics. Drawings of village views, on which this church can also be seen, were made by Dirk Verrijk around 1778. After the refund, the church was restored in 1803 and 1875.
