When you visit Wartburg Castle you should definitely look for the famous Devil's stain. It's an ink stain on the wall. Luther is said to have thrown his inkpot at the Devil because the Devil kept him from his translation work.
The stain is fading because of the many fingers rubbing it. Luther was hiding here in the 16th century and translated here the New Testament.
