Linné Vandringar

Carl Linnaeus was a brilliant educator. As part of the teaching of medicine, he took his students on a very popular excursions. A kind of educational walks around the town of Uppsala where the students got to experience theory in practice. Excursion are described in a paper in Linnaeus's Bureau in 1753, and called there Herbationes Upsalienses. They were eight in number. Seven led from Uppsala city duties to the countryside in all directions. The eighth was in Jumkil, where you went by horse and cart. The eight excursions together formed an educational whole, which facilitated the learning of plants and animals.
