The town of Sada

The town council of Sada, located in the region of As Mariñas, A Coruña, is one of the references for nautical and seafaring tourism in Galicia.
Although its origins are uncertain, numerous fonts found indicate that its founders were the Ártabros, a Celtic tribe which settled in the area and, according to historians, started fishing as an economic activity in the Bronze Age.
Sada's coat of arms is the symbol that best describes its history. In it is the entrance to the bay and a large vessel which refers to its flagship fishing and commercial port. The two towers are drawn at the ends, alluding to the castles of Fontán and Corbeiroa, 18th century buildings that protected the harbour and the numerous fishing and salting industries.
Although the town has a marked modernist style, the building that you have in front, the Marina Assistantship is a faithful representation of the typical architecture of the 50’s. The building, which retains its original name, now houses Sada Town Hall.
