Sint Anna ter Muiden (formerly: 'Mude', now also 'St. Anna ter Muiden') is a place (originally a city) in the municipality of Sluis in Zeeland, in the west of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The place is located on the westernmost point of the Netherlands and has a protected cityscape.

[edit] History
Mude was created around 1200, before the larger Sluis. The village developed very quickly, it already received city rights in 1242 from the Count of Flanders. In 1252 the town became a member of the Flemish Hanseatic League in London. The small town was located on the territory of the parish of Westkapelle, from which it would finally secede as an independent parish in 1324. The prefix Saint Anne came in the 15th century. In the Middle Ages it was an important trading city and a port of Bruges.

Now there is no more than a small, rustic village, where time has stood still, as it were. That is why the core was also declared a protected monument in its entirety, including the picturesque 17th century town hall, the reformed church (1653) at the foot of the massive tower from the 14th century, and the picturesque market square with Louis XIV pump.

In 1751, Sint Anna ter Muiden consisted of four streets, with 30 houses in which about 80 people lived.
