The village of Hawkley is located on Hangers Way, a 21 mile long-distance footpath through Hampshire.

The village of Hawkley contains many beautiful buildings, notably the church of St. Peter & St. Paul, and Hawkley Hurst house, both of which were designed by celebrated architect Samuel Sanders Teulon, who designed the Buxton Memorial Fountain, celebrating the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire in 1834 in Victoria Tower Gardens, London.
