Poplar Route

From TOP Dobbeplas you first walk along the cycle path towards cycle junction 89. There you will see the blue pole head markings of the Poplar Route. This route runs along the Dobbeplas through the Bieslandse Bos. Here you will find alternating forest and swamp, rough, trouser forests and open polder. The Bieslandse Polder was drained around 1780. The mill without blades on the Noordeindseweg is from that time. The Creek Route is beautiful. The creek area is much lower than the surrounding polder because peat has been put here in the past. The large amount of water that is now in the deeper parts creates a swampy character. Galloway cattle and Icelandic horses keep the area open.
