Vienna International Airport (German: Flughafen Wien-Schwechat; IATA: VIE, ICAO: LOWW) is the international airport of Vienna, the capital of Austria. It is the country's biggest airport and serves as the hub for Austrian Airlines and its subsidiary Tyrolean Airways as well as Niki. It is located in Schwechat, 18 km (11 mi) southeast of central Vienna. It is capable of handling wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and features a dense network of European destinations, long-haul flights to Africa, North America and Asia and services to North Africa. During 2013, the airport handled a total of 21,996,926 passengers, representing a respective 5.0% decline compared to 2012, and 244,650 aircraft movements.
