While officially still the Gold Coast, Coolangatta and surrounding beachside suburbs feel far removed from the lights and sounds of the nearby Surfers Paradise. The pace is that much more laid back, the buildings less tightly packed together. While this ride only rates a ?1? with the Where to Ride rating, take note of a few short and steep climbs early on. These hills are some what challenging so do not be afraid to climb off and just walk your bike up these hills.
