Bibra Lake

An easy and very scenic ride, you can do this any way you want. The simplest is a cruisy 7km circuit of Bibra Lake or you can extend the ride down the freeway bike path and pop down to Yangebup Lake as well. Bibra Lake is well known for two things, birdlife and insects. You can checkout the birds by concealing yourself in one of the bird watching hides dotted around the lake or spy them while perched on your saddle as you cruise around. There are endangered cockatoos and even the occasional peregrine falcon apparently. The insects aren?t so much of a problem anymore since they installed electric insect traps, but keep a lookout for frogs, bandicoots, brushtailed possums and the occasional inquisitive snake. This is all part of the Beeliar Regional Park and is a protected bushland area which means it should keep its beauty into the future.
