The hill roads around Hurstbridge are popular with cyclists keen to develop their climbing skills. The network of mainly bitumen roads appeals to road riders and they are out in force on weekends, but the dirt roads around Sugarloaf Reservoir also give the wider tyred brethren a chance to flex their muscles. There are several small towns in which you could base yourself to explore this area, but Hurstbridge is accessible by train and is convenient by car.
