The house with the specific gable in the corner of the Friday Market is the "Lakenmetershuis". It was built around 1770 under leadership of architect Bernard de Wilde and has a very Dutch apprearance.
The building was the house of the guilde of the " corduwaniers". Here, they measured and checked the cloth which was sold on the market.
Since, 1867 it is used as library of the cultural organisation the "Willemsfonds".
