Raeren just a village? No, Raeren is stoneware, the village had the best potters from the 14th to the 19th century. Much of the stoneware they made was on all the tables of the royal houses in Europe. Who doesn't know the jars with the three ears, the specialty of Rearen, or the gray-blue stoneware that made Westerwald famous. That stoneware was also developed by the potters from Raeren. Several of these products have been exhibited in Raeren Castle since 1963.
