The Wall of Geraardsbergen (De Muur van Geraardsbergen) has been listed 14 times in the Tour of Flanders. In the 50s of last century, the road became a paved road. In 1970, the first 325 meters became asphalt followed by cobbles. The ramp has a height difference of only 68 meters (summit at 101 meters), but has an average gradient of 9.1% with a maximum of 20%. They stopped using the climb from 1952 toll 1969 because there was too much chaos during the race on this slope. In 1981, the loop around the chapel at the top was added. That part has a slope of 17%. The height difference became 77 meters and the average gradient 9.3%.
