Near the junction (after about 400 m) you can see a curious field cross, which is probably close to the place where Walter de Marvis,
bishop of Tournai, during his tour in 1242 drew a cross to define the boundaries of some parishes.
At the foot of it, a memorial stone commemorates members of the Haus family, who died in German concentration camps during World War II, and Lieutenant Colonel August Haus, commander in the Secret Army.
The old Brugse Heirweg used to run here. Already in the 16th century, weary travelers could rest their horses and drink a fresh jug of beer themselves in the famous "hostelrie ende herberghe de Vijf Ringen". The current owner has now built a villa in the middle of it
a beautiful park. The homestead, which belongs to the property, has retained its original character.
