Tom Frantzen (* Brussel, 1954) created this peeing dog in 1999 on request of the local inhabitants comittee. The artist also created ?Madame Chapeau? in the Rue du Midi, the ?Vaartkapoen? at the Place de l’Yser and Bill & Boule in Jette. There’s more of him all over the world: Tervuren, Steenokkerzeel, Japan… This ‘Zinneke? (street dog, to be thrown into the ‘Little Zenne’), completes Manneke a,d Jeanneke Pis. Region minister Guy Vanhengel sometimes hands out a 1/20 scale bronze replica of this Zinneke to someone with a positive multicultural style: Toots Thielemans, Vincent Kompany etc.
Zinneke Pis is a statue in Brussels erected in 1998. It represents a urinating dog, along the same lines as the Manneken Pis (a boy) and the Jeanneke Pis (a girl).
