St. Hilarius Church is the main parish church of the West Flemish town of Wevelgem, located on the Grote Markt.
A church building in Wevelgem was first mentioned in 1222. The right of patronage rested with the Abbey of St. Martin in Tournai. It was probably a three-aisled basilical church. In 1578 this church was set on fire by iconoclasts and remained in ruins for 20 years. This was followed by recovery. The church was enlarged in 1773, as well as in 1832. Until this year, the substructure of the Romanesque tower remained.
