Description

Be careful in the vicinity of Borgloon and especially in the town of Wellen. This is the region of "The Buckriders". Around 1770, the goat riders made Belgian Limburg unsafe. The people wanted them to ride through the air on trestles. They were diabolical gangs, who murdered, pillaged and robbed. In Wellen, if the goat riders were caught, they were broken on the wheel and hanged in the Bonderkuil. A total of 330 people were put to death as goat riders. If you see a masked person flying through the air at great speed on a trestle, you have been warned.
