Drongen is, qua oppervlakte, de grootste deelgemeente van de Oost-Vlaamse hoofdstad Gent.

Bezienswaardigheden in Drongen zijn de Oude Abdij en de Sint-Gerolfkerk in Drongen-Centrum, en het Kasteel De Campagne met bijbehorend vrij domein en kinderboerderij in Luchteren.

Geografie
De plaats grenst aan Lovendegem in het noorden, Mariakerke in het noordoosten, Gent-stad in het oosten, Sint-Denijs-Westrem in het zuidwesten, respectievelijk Afsnee en Sint-Martens-Latem in het zuiden en Nevele in het westen.

Drongen is verdeeld in drie parochies: Luchteren, Drongen-Centrum en Baarle. Volgens sommigen is Halewijn ook nog "apart" van Luchteren, ook al is daar geen kerk. In Drongen bevinden zich een vijftal basisscholen, een drietal kerken en een jachthaven.
