Description

The Rotonde is the perfect children's play area Here they can go-cart or roller-blade to their heart's content. Adults come here for a game of petanque. On this elegant sweep of the promenade you find the statue of count de Smet de Naeyer (1843-1913), minister of finance and public works, and later on, prime minister under King Leopold II.Count de Smet de Naeyer played an important role in the expansion of the Belgian coastal infrastructure.

From the Rotonde you can fish in the sea. Those who feel like it can also have a dip in the adjoining Wielingen swimming pool.
