If you want to take a detour, take the first lane to the right, cross the Nonnenstraat and arrive at a pair of concrete plinths, dating from World War I. These are remnants of where a water reservoir stood along the military railway line from the coast to the hospitals of the front zone. This part of the forest was deforested during World War I for the construction of this railway. After the war, the railway line was dismantled and the forest was replanted
