Description

Napoleonsmolen, built there under Napoleon, popularly called Molen Van Bree, after a miller's family that formerly owned the property, also sometimes called the Mathijsenmolen after another former miller, first free mill of Hamont after the ancien régime, oldest stone windmill in Limburg, round windmill, top crawler and only scaffolding mill in the province, erected in 1804, after in 1800 the windmill of neighboring Achel was destroyed by the storm wind of November 9, confer inscription in white-painted brick: AN XII/ 1804.
