Above the northwest entrance is written "1777", the year the church was built. Since then, the church has been enlarged twice more to accommodate the growing number of inhabitants. However, the imposing tower is much older (around 1500). The statue of Servatius at the foot of the tower was placed in 1997 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the tower.
Inside is a treasury with some valuable statues (15th – 17th century): Saint Margaret of Antioch (with the dragon), Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Barbara, a statue of angels with crown of thorns and lance, Mary and Child...
The wooden statue 'Christ on the Cold Stone' (1530) is said to refer to a part of the Stations of the Cross that is not described in the Gospel. This stone is still displayed in Jerusalem and is called Sancta Maria de Spasmo or Jesus in Fear. In the late Middle Ages, there was an active, widespread worship of "Christ on the cold stone."
