In Malmédy, which is close to the German speaking part of the country, the German speaking Protestant community has a small, recently built church (1985). It is dedicated to Saint Mathew and is in the garden of a bourgeois town house.
There is a large bronze bell (only remain from the protestant church of Sint-Vith) at the entrance and the interior is very bare, as is the tradition in Protestantism. There is a simple pulpit, a cross and a candle. Thus the community concentrates on the Word, commentaries on it, singing and prayer.
