Tucked away in the verdant countryside of the Brabant Ardennes, this humble 18th century church, which has been recently refurbished, enchants above all by its immediate surroundings: a beautiful cobbled church square, an ancient graveyard circling the church, the nearby vicarage and the new cemetery lower down, all serene, encouraging meditation.
The spirit of welcome and openness which enlivens the community is noticeable inside: new stained glass windows warmly depict six parables from the Gospels. More unusual in a Christian church are the four windows of the choir representing the Christian cross, the green Muslim crescent, the Star of David and the Hindu circle all suggesting the universality of spiritual approach. There is a new altar in blue stone and a ceramic Way of the Cross by Max van der Linden.
