The Rotonde is the perfect children's play area in Wenduine at the foot of the dunes, protected from the wind by a modern screen. On this elegant sweep of the promenade you can also find the statue of count de Smet de Naeyer (1843-1913), minister of finance and public works, and later on, prime minister under King Leopold II. He played an important part in the expansion of Belgian coastal infrastructure.
