In 1999, the Dranouter Folk festival celebrated its 25th anniversary. On that occasion, a monument was unveiled on the Dranouter village square. The sculpture Quinten by the Westouter artist Nele Boudry carries a whole symbolism with it. It depicts a musician, a folk flute player, as dynamic, cheerful and relaxed as the audience on the festival grounds in early August. The name Quinten refers to the number five. The five lines of a stave are incorporated into it. The festival was also five times five years old at the time. The five elements are also incorporated: wood has been planted, the fire of music, the earth is present, the statue is made of bronze and water is also present in the plinth construction. The pedestal also has a meaning: the massive concrete violence symbolizes the past 25 years. Inside this vault are a number of relics of the Folk Festival, just as the Egyptians also enclosed a number of relics in their pyramids. In the pedestal is a bottle of festival wine, a jug of festival gin, a statuette, a festival CD and a list of names with all the groups that have ever played at the festival.
