The beautiful dries van 't Nelleken is easily recognizable as dries in the spacious surroundings due to its dark red color, the high location in relation to the surroundings and the open character of the surrounding landscape. The very clear triad structure is probably of Frankish origin, and has been preserved here intact. The Dries was often a gathering place for the cattle with the intention of feeding, milking, watering and isolating them in order to secure the crops on the surrounding arable lands. The dries also played a role in everyday activity, in the immediate vicinity of the house the dries was used as a bleaching meadow. During parties and fairs, the dries was the meeting place par excellence.
