In Heemmuseum 't Smiske in Rijmenam, housed in an old farm, you take a step back in time. The block factory turns again and from the oven comes the smell of freshly baked bread. Sweet tooths will undoubtedly find it hard to resist the 'neuzekes' and 'kloefkes' in the authentic candy store.
The triangular village square proves it: Rijmenam - a borough of Bonheiden - developed in the Frankish period. Both the St. Martin's Church, its tower and the walled cemetery with pillory are protected.
