The Breiloop is an ecologically sensitive watercourse in which a rich fish stock still lives, especially downstream. In order not to mortgage the further ecological development of this, seven physical barriers (fish migration bottlenecks) were removed in 2002. With the construction of spawning grounds and a new meander at the Prinsenpark, the ecological value increased considerably.
