The Alfons Fleurrusstraat and the Oudenakenstraat run along the landscape boundary of the stream alluvium of the Zuunbeek and the valley wall of the same stream. Of course, this is no coincidence. Very regularly, old roads (when they were still unpaved) run along such natural borders. The road is slightly higher than the stream alluvium because it is far too swampy to walk through in large parts of the year. And it is preferable not to walk through the fields of farmers, but rather along them. And then you automatically end up in this position.
