On November 27, 1916, the German occupiers deported 1299 men from the region from Franière station (cfr panel on site) to the camp of Kassel, just south of Hanover and Hesse-Nassau (D).
Among them there were 477 inhabitants of present-day Floreffe: 226 from the village of Floreffe itself, 70 from Floriffoux, 97 from Franière and 84 from Soye.
Of the 226 'Floreffois', 15 died during or after the deportation. This street is dedicated to them.
