Upright Dutch linden with very heavy nest-shaped branch structure in the crown. The tree stands near a ruin of a building that is still drawn on the land register map. It stands on the west side of the ruin and is therefore traditionally planted as a fencing tree. Many planted lindens in the Flemish Ardennes show this typical phenomenon in the crown. More specifically, a kind of internal crown of an impenetrable tangle of branches that is reminiscent of a magpie's nest. The name "nestlinde" is therefore already used. The nest here near the tree at the Nederpoorterij is enormous and covers up to a quarter of the crown. This linden clone may be a variety that has spread far beyond our national borders through trade. Further genetic research should confirm this.
