The old forest cores of the Waterfallbos are fairytale-like. In spring, you can find carpets of wood anemone, duckberry and primroses. Here and there you will also find forest violets and spots with celandine. And high up in the bare branches hang mistletoe. All these plants bear witness to an ancient forest. After all, this flora expands slowly. Limburgs Landschap vzw also cuts down trees. These are non-native trees, such as the American oak here, which hardly allow for undergrowth. As a result, they are less valuable for our native species. By removing the exotic species, there is once again room for native species.
