There are no less than 23 species of fish in the Zig. The water quality is decent to very good. Brook lamprey, roadside and small loach are some of the rare guests. In the dragonfly community, too, the good water quality translates into the presence of many species. For example, the striking meadow damselfly. These damselflies have a preference for running water. You can recognize them by their brightly colored wings. In the males it is metallic blue and in the females it is metallic green.
