After 217 steps you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the region at a height of 37 meters.
This 'tourist tower' was built just over the municipal border near a unique 'channel crossroads.' There are no fewer than three channels on this spot. On top of the tower you have a magnificent view of the Kempen Lakes that have been formed during the past hundred years under the influence of sand extraction. These ponds were transformed into recreational waters or nature reserves after the white sand had been taken away. The vastness of the nature domain De Maat is also immediately noticeable. In clear weather you can see many kilometers far. For example, it is sometimes possible to discern Beringen's 'mine terrils'.
