Description
Memorial for two lieutenants killed during the Second World War, located on the roadside near the widening in the Gentsestraat.
Recent memorial stone for Lieutenant Deprez Robert (1921-1944) and Schaepdryver André (1920-1945), both born here. Monument consisting of a marble pedestal on which a half-rounded slab with elaborate text. Natural stone from "NATUURSTEEN DELTOUR BVBA BAVIKHOOFSESTRAAT 120 HARELBEKE" cf. inscription.
In honor of Lieutenant André Schaepdryver, a memorial plaque was previously attached to the side façade of the entrance gate of his birthplace at Gentsesteenweg no. 100 (demolished).
