The two pals Nicolas Marichal and Lionel Nailis took over the long-established trout farm "La Truite d'Ondenval" in 2014. These two young entrepreneurs were certainly no ordinary fishmongers. Marichal is a trained biologist, Nailis a behavioural researcher. They teamed up, with a shared ambition to make their living close to nature.
They source their trout mainly from Wewel Mill in Ourtal. The trout are cleansed internally in pure spring water, allowing their flavour then to emerge in full. Trout from Ondenval have recently been included on the "Made in East Belgium" label.
