The castle is located on a moated site and consists of a keep , with an L-shaped wing attached to it. At the northern end is a chapel. There is a tower on the southwest corner and there is also a small tower in the courtyard . East of the courtyard is a gatehouse with a bridge over the moat.
The walls of the keep have a thickness of two meters and are made of limestone. The keep has a vaulted room on the first floor. Watchtowers have been installed on the four corners of the keep . There is a bell tower in the spire.
According to stories, a wooden keep of the castle dates from the time of Charlemagne and a stone keep from the 12/13th century was later built on this site.
Later in succession, the castle came into the hands of Count Florent Ferd in 1875. J.L. d'Oultremont. In 1882 he had important changes made to the castle: a chapel was built, a small round tower was built in the courtyard, a bridge and gatehouse over the moats, and various other works.
