Brouwerij De Vlier was founded on 10 March 2008 by Marc Andries, engineer in chemistry and agriculture, option biotechnology. Before that, he worked at the Achouffe Brewery and the Haacht Brewery. Originally, the brewery was located in Vlierbeek. Hence the name "The Elder". The first beer from 2008 was named "Kessel Blond", after Kessel-Lo.It soon became clear that the location of the first brewery was not ideal. That is why in the autumn of 2009 the company moved to Holsbeek. In order to increase production, 2 fermentation tanks of 1000 liters were purchased.
