Monastery and school building

Located on the corner with Kloosterpad. Convent of the sisters of the Congregation of Saint Vincent of Deftinge with Catholic free primary school and former almshouse, now rest home so-called "St.-Ursmarus". Brick building complex opposite choir of St. Ursmarus Church. Construction in 1892 of monastery on the street and next to it (south), in the back of the school building of 1893. Monastery already expanded in 1895 with almshouse (rear wing to courtyard of monastery). Monastery farm adjacent to the monastery, replaced in the first quarter of the 20th century by neo-Gothic monastery chapel (1914 ?) and adjacent school building (1921) in street bend (now partly rest home and school); transverse wing between monastery garden and playground school built in 1923, initial housekeeping school. Renovation works of retirement home in 1977-1980. Mainly well-preserved street facades. Left main building monastery with two storeys and five bays under gable roof. Sober framed façade with double house stand with high arched wall openings (original window frames). Two hard stone commemorative stones of the laying of the foundation stone (12.07.1892); façade niche with Saint Vincent statuette in central doorway. Old retirement home of one and a half storeys in the middle of the façade of the courtyard with pointed arches with a statue of Saint Vincent.
