* Built in honour of Saint Gudula on the site of the prayer site of her villa in the 7th century, dedicated to the Holy Saviour. Her bones were venerated for a time in the Women's Convent founded by her cousin, Saint Berlindis (7th century). Mentioned in 1466; rebuilt in 1597 and remained more or less unchanged until now. Located in the middle of the Village and oriented to the northeast. Late Gothic rectangular building built of Meldert sandstone (rather irregular pattern). Nave of three bay. with three-sided choir closure. Slate roofing. Bevelled plinth and continuous cordon at the level of the window sills. South-western spout ending in a fine six-sided bell tower with a spire on a broad corbel; ascending half-columns, two registers; Savings fields with quatrefoil motif and arched higher up and only open on the east and west sides (clock). Façade flanked by superimposed corner buttresses with single cut. Basket-arched porch surmounted by a pointed arch window with profiled course, drip moulding with stretched ends. Northwest blind side façade with bay division by means of buttresses. Southeast façade supported by buttresses; basket-arched gate and pointed arch window. To the north-east choir with buttresses, to the left and right a pointed arch window with renewed tracery. Enclosure by means of cross rib vault on consolations and belt arches. Mobile: All interior decorations were commissioned by Lodewijk Cayro, baron of Moorsel, in 1660, namely: altar of marbled wood with the arms of Antoon Blanckaert. Ten paintings depicting scenes from the life of Saint Gudula and Saint Gudula statue (18th century), statue of Christ (palm wood, 18th century).
