WITTEBEEK : During the school year 2011-2012, some children of the second grade were exploring in the vicinity of the TintelTuin ... They came across a very polluted stream. The whole class wanted to know the best about it. The Intermunicipal Water Company (IWM) was found to be discharging limescale residues from the central water softener. Since then, the children have been talking about the 'Wittebeek' and are doing everything they can to ensure that the plants and animals no longer give up the white gunk. The 'Wittebeek' did not remain a second-degree project. At the start of the 2012-2013 school year, a student working group was started: students from every class of the primary school are now committed to a pure watercourse where plenty of animals can live and plants can grow again.
