The Aiguilles de Chaleux are rocks located on the right bank of the Lesse. They have been part of the exceptional heritage of the Walloon Region since 2009. The best view of these rocks is on the other side of the Lesse near the hamlet of Chaleux, located north of the village of Hulsonniaux. The term "needles" or "coniferous rocks" comes from the typical shape of several gray and white limestone rocks of the Condroz that date back to Tournai and Visean (between 330 and 358 million years) and that form narrow ridges like those called Le Chanbiru. The base of these vertical rocks is directly bounded by the Lesse. The Aiguilles de Chaleux are the western part of a natural "circus", the Cirque de Chaleux, whose summit reaches an altitude of 210 m, or about 110 m above the level of the river and is accessible from the village of Furfooz.
