The construction of the Beguinage Church probably started around 1240. Popularly called 'Paterskerk'. Most of the houses of the Beguinage were destroyed by bombings during the Second World War. In 1976, this early Gothic church, the second oldest beguinage in Belgium, burned down for the most part. After restoration, the ruin was converted into a walking park.
