This monument represents planet Earth.

It is part of a scale model of our solar system. The scale model covers the whole of Belgium and has a length of 300 km.

The sun is shining on Beaulieu in Auderghem. Mercurius stands for the Cultural Centre in Auderghem. Venus is located in Watermael-Boitsfort (at 2,705m). Our own Earth with the Moon stands in front of the Royal Observatory of Uccle (3.7 km from the Sun). Mars is located in Hoeilaart.

Jupiter is located in Kampenhout-Sas. Saturn in Gemblours. Uranus is located in Tongeren. Neptunus in Ostend. Pluto, the dwarf planet 147 km from the Sun in this scale model, is located in Forenville.
