[WWI, 1920]
This Good Shepherd from the Van Uytvanck studio in Leuven is a symbol of the parish priest who watches over his parishioners. On 26 August 1914, Pastor Degent took some wounded inhabitants to an aid station in Aarschot. On his return, he was captured and imprisoned. The next day he was taunted, humiliated and shot. His body was thrown into the Demer.
